Haven't posted in a long while, but we did another cycle with just Follistim, and an IUI on February 27. On March 10, I got a BFP!! I've had two hcg betas done so far: 450 and 935! They think it may be twins! I got in for another beta next Monday, and my first ultrasound on April 3.
I told my family by filling plastic Easter eggs with clues: baby oil scented paper towel, the word "November," scrapbook stickers of booties, mittens, etc., and a Baby Ruth candy bar. It took them a minute, but they got it!

Numero Uno
So here's the very first blog entry for me. The purpose, I suppose, is to journal what's going on in my life right now. My hubby and I are in our 20's and have decent jobs that can be our careers if we so choose. I think they will be, but no one ever knows what tomorrow holds. We're in the beginning of our first cycle of infertility treatment. I don't talk about it much in person, so this will give me an outlet.
So if we were looking at a map, the little red "you are here" arrow would be pointing at cycle day 7. I have successfully taken Letrozole for five days with few side effects. Had a dull headache for the whole time, but other than that...no problems. So from here I go on cycle day 11 for an ultrasound to see how my follicles are developing and schedule my HCG shot. I have to give it to myself which I have mixed feelings about. I like to play doctor and mix things...but I'm not accustomed to injecting myself with things. Not sure what it feels like to be on the giving end of a syringe. I think I'll practice on a grapefruit a few times. So after I take the shot, then I'll do an IUI shortly after. Hopefully, this will be the first and last time we ever have to do this. Lord, please give us a child this month!
We've been trying to get pregnant for a year and 2 months. We wanted to do it right. We waited a year after we were married, then I went back to school to finish my degree. That took 2 years. So here we are in year 4 of the marriage and still trying to have a baby. Not bad. Just ready. Very ready. We own our home, have stable employment, and feel we are able to provide a loving, healthy home to a child with God's help. I'm so anxious, excited, nervous, scared out of my mind...but ready nonetheless. I know God will give us what we need when we need it. He's good like that.
Work is so stressful. I work in a court. I'm as high as I can go at the moment. Not bad for someone in their 20s. But I don't want to settle. I want to do more. I know I have the potential. But as for now I am fairly content and am trying to take baby-steps forward. As long as I'm moving forward I'm good. I'm doing the job of about 3 people right now. Partly because we're temporarily short-handed, partly because of others' incompetence. Hopefully that will change soon.
So that's it for blog numero uno. I hope to keep up with this. I really like the font.
